Obituary

Clarence M. Blaisdell, 97 of Londonderry, NH died Tuesday May 27, 2014 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Mr. Blaisdell was born in Plainville, MA on November 13, 1916, a son of the late Caspar T. and Flora (Devereaux) Blaisdell. He was raised in Wrentham, MA, living in Conover, NC before moving to Londonderry 21 years ago. During WWII, Mr. Blaisdell served in the US Army with the Fourth Field Artillery Unit in the Pacific Theatre. He worked with his family for many years at Blaisdell’s Market in Wrentham. He was later employed as a school bus driver in the Wrentham community where he was known as “Cappy”. He was a member of the Wrentham American Legion Post #225 and a former member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Wrentham. Mr. Blaisdell was always smiling and making a joke. He could become your friend within minutes of meeting him.
He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Breslin and her husband Raymond of Londonderry, his son, Thomas Blaisdell and his wife Diana of Ashburn, VA, three grandchildren; Kelly Breslin of Londonderry, Holly Parinello of Falls Church, VA, and Erin Plunkert of Leesburg, VA; five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Patrick, Connor, Aidan and Emily; two sisters, Dorothy Ross of Lebanon, ME, and Geneva Evans of Wrentham, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances E. (Wilson) Blaisdell in 1992.
Calling hours were held on Sunday June 1, 2014 from 2 – 5pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Monday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Graveside committal with military honors followed at 12:00pm in the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight, 1193 Hooksett Rd., Hooksett, NH 03106.
