Sarah "Deene" Cravey Bowen, 86, of Tifton died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Howell will officiate with burial to follow.
Mrs. Bowen was born on February 15, 1928 in Tifton and was the daughter of Abie Jehu Cravey and Bessie Emily Payne Cravey, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Samuel Reid Bowen, Jr.; one son, Donald Ray Rice; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Calvary Methodist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Emily Suzanne and Gary Flanders of Tifton; three grandchildren, Donnie Rice, Simmy McKeown, Jr. and Amy Draper; and seven great-grandchildren, Eryn Draper, Katie Draper, Tyler Rice, Caleb Rice, Autumn Rice, Julia McKeown and Spence McKeown.
