Obituary

Dennis Correia, 52, of New Bedford died Wednesday November 10, 2004 at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Joanne M. (Menino) Correia.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Mariano and Evelyn (Carvalho) Correia, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Mr. Correia had been employed as a manager for a self-storage company in this area. He was previously employed at Morse Cutting Tools.

Mr. Correia was a member of the Washington Club and Working Men's Softball League. An avid bowler at Playdium Lanes, he had been a member of the Morse Bowling League. He was an avid sports fan and Boston Red Son fan. He also enjoyed playing the drums.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jared D. Correia of Nashua, N.H. and Patrick M. Correia of Boston; a daughter, Catherine A. Correia of Fall River; a brother, Leonard Correia of Fairhaven; a sister, Leonora Bernardo of Cumberland, R.I.; his mother-in-law, Mary Menino of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday November 12, 2004 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday November 11, 2004 from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
