Robert G. Simonin, 64, of Westport passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston. He was the former husband of Donna (Carpenter) Simonin of West Virginia.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph N. and Helen B. (Saucier) Simonin he was a lifelong resident of Westport. Mr. Simonin had worked as a carpenter for various area contractors. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his former wife, survivors include 1 son: Jerry L. Simonin of W.Virginia; 3 daughters: Carrie Simonin, Melissa Rhinehart and Christine Simonin, all of MO; 4 brothers: Norman R. Simonin, William R. Simonin, Richard S. Simonin all of Westport and Dave Buzzad of W.Virginia; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Jerry K. Simonin and David W. Simonin, Sr.
