Karin K. (Knippertz) Marchetti, 73, of Estero, FL, and formerly of Wellesley, MA passed away on May 16, 2014 from complications of pneumonia. She was receiving radiation treatment at the renowned Scripps Proton Therapy Center in San Diego. Karin was surrounded by family and love as she peacefully started her new journey with God.
Karin was born in Monchen-Gladbach, Germany, and came to the United States after marrying her husband, Richard J. Marchetti. Karin always had an adventurous spirit, a great sense of humor and a love for life and family. We will miss her dearly.
Karin leaves behind Richard, her husband of 56 years; three children, Katherine (Stafford); Michael; and James Marchetti; their spouses; her eight grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Maria Hoyland of Wellesley, MA; and Trudi Bushell of Scrooby, England.
On Saturday, July 19, there will be a visitation and celebration of life at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St., Wellesley from 9:00-10:45 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Paul Catholic Church, Wellesley at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
