Perry A. Page, Sr., age 53, of Plainville passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer A. Phillips-Page to whom he was wed on November 27, 1993.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey on January 10, 1961, he was a loving son of Yvonne Fichot Page of Mount Vision, New York and the late Charles Page.
Perry grew up and was educated in Plainfield, New Jersey and Mount Vision, New York, and was a graduate of the Morris Central School. He later entered the United States Navy where he proudly served his country as a Medical Corpsman.
He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Massasoit Community in Brockton where he received his degree in law enforcement. Perry later received his masters degree, also in law enforcement.
Prior to retiring in 2013, Mr. Page worked as a Correctional Officer at MCI Walpole and MCI Concord. After 23 years of servicing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, he retired with the rank of Lieutenant.
A resident of Plainville for the past 15 years, he had previously resided in Attleboro and North Attleboro. Perry was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church in Plainville; where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and had the distinction of serving as the councils original Grand Knight.
Perry’s life revolved around his family and since the age of 18 he fulfilled his lifelong passion of entertaining and spreading joy to youngsters in his role as Santa Claus.
In addition to his beloved wife and mother, he is survived by his cherished and devoted son; Perry A. “PJ” Page, Jr. of Plainville. He was the dear brother of Charles Page and his wife Debbie of Rockbridge, Ohio, Yvonne Lyons and her husband Arthur of Maine, New York, Julia Althiser and her husband Larry of Hartwick, New York, and Aurore Perrine and her husband Chris of Mount Vision, New York. He was the adoring son-in-law of Nelia Phillips of Foxboro and the late Clyde Phillips. He was the dear brother-in law of Debbie and Ralph Giovaniello of Mansfield, Kim and Kevin O’Connor of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Jeffrey Phillips and Debbie Springer of Taunton. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; including Adrienne and Danny Marcellus of Mansfield, as well as many aunts, uncles and godchildren.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, May 30th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Martha’s Church, 227 South St., Plainville, Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 29th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
