Messiah X. Portela, 20, of Salem, NH died unexpectedly Friday, May 23rd. He was a lifelong Salem resident and graduated from Salem High School.
Messiah enjoyed music, writing songs and spending time with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Mario Portela and his paternal grandfather, Mario Portela.
Messiah is survived by his mother, Amy Ortiz of Salem; his brothers, Mario Portela of Salem, Mark Roche of Memphis, TN, Marlon Roche of Colorado Springs, CO and Gabriel Ortiz of Salem; his maternal grandparents, Diane and Efrain Ortiz of Salem and his paternal grandmother, Damaris Estrada of FL; his uncles, Jonathan, Nathanial and Gregory Ortiz, Thomas Armano, and Angel and Tomas Portela; his aunt, Jennifer Armano and numerous cousins including Eric Frazier.
Calling hours will be Wed., May 28th from 4-7PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Service will follow at 7PM at the Funeral Home.
The family strongly requests donations in lieu of flowers, to help defray the funeral costs. Donations can be cash, credit cards or checks made out to Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home.
