Blanche E. Carter
Formerly of Tewksbury
MILTON, NH: Blanche E. (Hardy) Carter, age 86, a resident of Milton, NH since 1991, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at home, with family by her side, on Thursday, May 22, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of John E. Carter, who passed away on December 28, 2007.
Born in Reading on July 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harold N. Hardy and the late Elvira (Milliken) Hardy.
Blanche was raised in Reading and attended Reading schools.
Following her marriage in 1947, she lived in Tewksbury for 44 years until moving to Milton, NH.
Blanche enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, William K. Carter with whom she resided of Milton, NH, John E. Carter, Jr. and his wife Constance of Wilmington and Nancy E. Carter of Tewksbury; one brother, Jack Hardy and his wife Arlene of Ocala, FL; one sister, Ida Coates of Wakefield, NH; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.
Blanche was the sister of the late Paul Dunham, Charlotte Duggan and Frank "Ben" Hardy. Calling hours Tuesday, May 27, from 2-6 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Immediately followed by her prayer service to be held at the funeral home. Following cremation, interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
