Died Wednesday May 21, 2014 at home,peacefully. Corrine was born April 19, 1929, in Anoka, MN. The daughter of John Boda and Priscilla (Wirtz) Boda. She graduated from Faribault High School, the University of Minnesota and later from St. Cloud State University with a Masters degree in education. Corrine married Bernard F Schommer in 1953 and they were blessed with six children. Mom always remembered each and every family birthday and important events. Mom was a dedicated and insightful teacher who traveled to several states, working especially with the developmentally disadvantaged. She rewrote the Minnesota driver's manual so someone with a seventh grade ability could read and understand it. She remained a teacher to the day she died. Mom moved to Chippewa Falls in 2006 and quickly became engaged in the community, tutoring at Holy Ghost school, becoming involved with the parish prayer chain and also with St Josephs Hospital Hospice. Preceded in death by Bernard, parents and brother Tom. Corrine is survived by her children: Mary (Bill) Kellerman of Chippewa Falls, Wi., Anthony Schommer of St Croix Falls, Wi., Michael Schommer of Forest Lake, Mn., Jean (Dan) Netko of Big Lake, Mn., Louis (Tammi) Schommer of Rapid City, S.D., Joan (Rich) Ciesler of Shafer, Mn., Grandchildren: Tom Kellerman, Danielle and Stephanie Netko, Vicki (Chris) Teixeira, Seth Schommer, Great Grandchildren: Alana and Aiden Teixeira, Nieces: Sharon Hemmeke and Patricia Schwarz, Nephews: Mark and Tom Boda. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday (May 27) at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret Street, North St Paul with visitation one hour before the Mass. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, North St. Paul. Arrangements with Pederson-Volker Funeral Home and Sandberg Funeral & Cremation Services.
