NATICK: Wiggy Martin (Harriet E. Wignot Martin), age 92, died peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by family on May 19, 2014, under the loving and dedicated care of the Rosarie and Long Term Care staffs of Saint Patrick’s Manor. She was the wife of the late William R. Martin for 61 years.
A lifelong resident of Natick, she was the daughter of Joseph T. and Susan (Valentine) Wignot. Wiggy graduated from Natick High School in 1939 as a member of the National Honor Society. She then entered a five-year nursing program at Simmons College and graduated in 1944 with a BS Degree in Nursing.

An avid tennis player, she was a member of the Trefethen Evergreen Improvement Association on her beloved Peak’s Island, Maine, where she spent her summers. She and her husband enjoyed many years of world-class fishing, from “ice-out” at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, to the Kenai River in Alaska, where Wiggy landed a 70 pound king salmon.
