Obituary

Anthony G. Mento, a resident of Everett for over 35 years and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at his home in Everett following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 79 years old.

Anthony was born in Boston on February 8, 1935, a son of the late Santo Mento and Fadora (Carillo) Mento. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Anthony enlisted into the United States Air Force on May 6, 1952 and served his country with pride and courage during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged on June 5, 1956 with the rank of Airman Second Class. Anthony worked for over 30 years in the warehouse for H.D. Chasen Company of Somerville.

Anthony is the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Hawkins) Mento. He is the devoted father of Dora Armstrong, Donna Williams, Mary Paquette, Dolores Stanley, Anthony Mento, Joseph Mento, Matthew Mento and Troy Bryant. He is the loving Grandfather of many grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Catherine, Dora, Irene and Mary.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Anthony's visiting hours on Tuesday morning from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. followed by his Funeral Service at 10 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Burial will be at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 P.M.
