Margaret A. “Maggie” (Connolly) Coughlin, age 68 of Brockton, died Tuesday May 20, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of Robert J. Coughlin. Margaret was born and raised in South Boston a daughter of the late Henry J. and Margaret E. (Reilly) Connolly. She has been a Brockton resident since 1972.
A graduate of St. Augustine High School and Catherine Labouré School of Nursing, Margaret was a registered nurse starting her nursing career at Carney Hospital in Dorchester and had been with Good Samaritan Medical Center for 26 years until her retirement in 2008.
She enjoyed reading, spending time at the beach, but what gave her most enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Robert M. Coughlin and his wife Juliette of N. Easton; Matthew J. Coughlin and his partner Darren R. Bennett of Brockton and Brendan P. Coughlin and his wife Genevieve of Brockton, her grandchildren Michael Stewart, Ryan Stewart, Logan Coughlin, Maeve Coughlin and Chloe Coughlin; her twin sister Mary Ulrich of So. Boston and the late Martha Kelley and Henry Connolly.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Friday 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 10am for a Funeral Mass in St. John Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater at 11am. Cremation will follow.
