Kathleen M. Moran, 80, of Greenville, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, surrounded by her family in the Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John H. and Helena (O’Meara) Moran. She had lived in Smithfield for 20 years. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and Emmanuel College, Boston. Kathleen had been a Teacher at Ponagansett Middle School and retired after 46 years of teaching. She loved gardening, sports, reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her siblings: Helena Moran, Therese Moran and John Moran all of Greenville and Mary Ferns of Chepachet, her nieces and nephews: Mary Elizabeth Ferns of Chepachet, Kathleen VanGorden and her husband, Kevin of North Kingston, Michael Ferns and his wife, Julie of Sterling, CT and Sean Ferns and his wife, Lisa of Foster and seven great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ann Moran.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828. Burial in St Francis Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Philip Church.
