Worcester - Freeland "Dave" Desourdi, 79, of Mercury Dr. formerly of Alvarado Ave. died on Tuesday Nov. 9 in his home.
His wife Gladys (Piltzecker)Desourdi died in 2000. Mr. Desourdi is survived by three daughters Susan A. Mulhern of Worcester, Kathleen A. LeBeau of Dudley and Doreen M. Rondeau of Tyngsboro; a sister Pauline White of Worcester; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a son David G. Desourdi who died in 1986 and a sister Thelma Stasinos.
Mr. Desourdi was born in Worcester son of Mabel J. (Mores) Desourdi - O'Neil and David G. Desourdi. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army where he was part of the 104th Infantry Division.
Mr. Desourdi worked for Commonwealth Spring as a spring coiler for many years before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Vernon Hill American Legion Post #435, the National Timberwolves Association, Veterans of the 104th Infantry Division of WWII.
A funeral service will be held on Friday November 12 at 10 AM in Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Thursday November 11 from 5 to 8 Pm in the funeral home.
