Everett L. "Pappy" Condon, 80, of New Bedford, died Saturday November 6, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of F. Roma (Toman) Condon; they had been married for 60 years.
Born in Rockland, Maine, the son of the late Albert and May (Leland) Condon, he lived in the Greater New Bedford area for most of his life.
Mr. Condon was formerly employed as shipwright for several area boat yards until his retirement.
A skilled wooden boat craftsman, he mentored many area boat builders through the years. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Condon and his wife Bridget of Fairfield, Maine; two daughters, Jillian Teixeira and her husband David of Weymouth, and Beth von Staats of Hyannis; 9 grandchildren ; 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William Condon and Clinton Condon.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 11 AM at the Seamen's Bethel, 15 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours are omitted. Private Burial Services will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
