Obituary

Fernande V. (Boisvert) Skoglund, 84, of Manchester, died October 28, 2001, at Villa Crest after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Manchester, January 29, 1917, and was the daughter of Louis and Evaleda (Beaudry) Boisvert. She lived most of her life in Manchester.

She worked in New Britain, CT. during World War II and was the first woman to operate a B & S Grinder for the Fafnir Bearing Co. After the war she returned to Manchester and started her own business, Fernande’s Bridal Salon. In 1952 she went to work for the Pandora Co. as a cutter and worked her way up to become a designer, retiring after 30 years.

Family members include a son, Francis A. LaPointe of Enfield, CT; 3 grandchildren, James LaPointe and wife Karen of W. Kingston, RI, Tina Justesen and husband Walter of suffield, CT, and Kent LaPointe and wife Meg of Granby, CT; 6 great grandchildren, Greg, Alex, Alannah, Angelique, Davis and J.C.; 2 sisters, Janet Soucy of Manchester, and Marcelle Grimard of Hooksett; a brother, Armand Boisvert of Bristol, CT.; a very dear friend, Theresa Wajda of N. Ft. Myers, FL; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Alfred, and two sisters, Valeda and Irene.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 am in St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
