Barbara Ellen Magdalene Hammond of Reading passed away on Sunday November 7, 2004. She was 45 years of age.
Born in Cambridge, Barbara was a longtime resident of Reading. Barbara was a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.
Barbara was a graduate or Reading Memorial High School in the class of 1978. She attended Bunker Hill Community College after High School. Barbara was a former employee of the Registry of Motor Vehicles. She was a commander of the Disabled American Veteran’s Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 37. She was also the Junior Vice Commander of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was a dedicated member of the Reading Women’s Club and dedicated volunteer for the Cystinosis Research Network. Barbara also enjoyed going to see off Broadway Shows.
Barbara was the beloved daughter of Alfred H. Hammond and the late Margaret (Ferguson) Hammond. She was the dear sister of John Hammond and his wife Colleen of Burlington, Robert Hammond and his wife Traci of Charlotte North Carolina, Al Hammond and his wife Anne of Boston and the late Edward Patrick Hammond. Barbara was the cherished aunt of Kayla, Shea and Connor.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
