Obituary

Eugenia “Ginny” (Kotseas) Maintanis, 83, of Auburn died Sunday, May 11th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Stephen T. Maintanis; three children, Maria Dolan and her husband, Mark of Charlton, Charles Maintanis and his wife, Nancy of Leicester and Stephanie Tolman and her husband, Bryan of Charlton; three sisters, Mary Angelis, Venus Peters Schubiger and Georgia Anthony; five grandchildren, Meghan Blackwood, Stephen Maintanis, Timothy Dolan, Brittany and Derek Tolman and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Charles Kotseas and two sisters, Helen Nicas and Claire Donoghue.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Harry M. and Evangeline (Tsetsis) Kotseas. Ginny graduated from the former High School of Commerce and from Hahnemann Hospital Nursing School in 1953. She had worked as a private duty nurse and later for the late Dr. Germanos. Mrs. Maintanis was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her ever present smile.
Her funeral is Wednesday, May 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 13th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
