Obituary

James F. Carlson, Sr. age 75 of Canton passed away May 12th at the High Gate Manor in Dedham. Born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston Schools and was a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He worked for M.D. Stetson Co. in Randolph as a Salesman for 35 years before retiring. He also previously worked as a self-employed Photographer and as a photographer for the Herald Traveler. He lived in Canton from 1974 to 2008 and was a coach for Canton Youth Soccer for many years and was a member of the Canton Men’s Soccer Team. Beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (Coyle). Father of Deborah Carlson-Evans and her husband Paul of N. Attleboro, James F. Jr. and his wife Irene of N. Easton, Pamela Carlson of W. Roxbury and Scott Carlson of Chelmsford. Grandfather of Jonathan and Jameson Evans, Samantha, Amanda and James Carlson. Brother of John V. Carlson of N.H., Eleanor Hanlon of Wayland and the late Elizabeth Lebedew. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Thursday morning at 10:30. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Lung Assn 460 Totten Pond Rd #400, Waltham, MA 02451.
