Charlotte Dowd

TEWKSBURY- Charlotte (Sowienski) Dowd, age 93, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 7, at
Tangerine of Brooksville, Senior Care Center in Brooksville, FL. She was wife of the late John
F. Dowd who died in 1964.
She was born in Boston on Oct 12, 1911, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Jasenski))
Sowienski.
Prior to retirement, she was employed as a stitcher at a furniture manufacturing plant in Boston.
In her earlier years she was a member of the Hyde Park Polish - American Society.
She is survived by one son John F. Dowd Jr. of Wildwood, FL; one sister Josephine Kasznek of
Boston; and a dear friend Evelyn Sederquist of Tewksbury.
She was also mother of the late James Down and Connie Dowd, and was sister of the late Walter
Sowienski, Stella Moraski, Jennie O’Niell, Angela Kissel, Rose McDonough, Madeline
McCluskey, and Frances Lojek.
Her Funeral
Mass was held Thursday, Nov. 11, in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte 38) Wilmington. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
