Bedford– Irene Sykes, 85, died May 7, 2014 at the Laurel Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Manchester on March 16, 1929 the daughter of Alfred and Alice (Beaudet) Paris and had been a lifelong resident of this community.
Prior to her retirement she had worked at Myrna Shoe and Modutec.
She had been a former parishioner at St. George Church and St. Augustin Church.
Family members include her son, Kenneth Sykes and his wife, Linda Draus of Harmony, ME., and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Ann Powers and Elaine Shook.
A prayer service will take place on Friday at 10 AM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. Manchester.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Irene’s name to the SPCA of NH, 104 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, NH 03885.
