CHICOPEE - Adrienne Y. (Rivard) Ouellette Mayotte, 98, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on May 5 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint Pascal, Province of Quebec, Canada Sept. 26, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas J. and Marie Anne (Dumais) Rivard. In 1916, she settled with her family on Front St. in Chicopee. During the Great Depression, she left high school to work for Bond Bread in Springfield. She lived in Springfield a short time before returning to Chicopee in 1950. She retired as the meat department manager at Food Mart on Memorial Drive. She previously worked at their Belmont Avenue store in Springfield. She also worked for Big Y. She was a loving mother who showered her family with love and affection. She enjoyed her many friends at the Aldenville Senior Center in Chicopee and was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husbands, Adrien H. Ouellette, in 1954, and Richard P. Mayotte in 1962. She leaves her loving children, Adrienne M. Nietupski and her husband, John, of Chicopee with whom she lived, Rita L. Ouellette of Pembroke, MA, Robert T. Ouellette and his wife, Vicki, of Bridgewater, MA, and Michelle M. Winofker and her husband, Sander, of Fleming Island, FL; her 13 cherished grandchildren, Michael Montel, Monique (Terence) Hegarty, Mechelle Montel, Karen (David) Miglietta, Laurie (Anthony) Pizzella, Wendy (Rob) Peacock, James (Lorraine) Bacis, Julie Bacis, Matthew (Allison) Bacis, Adrien Ouellette, Thomas (Anna) Ouellette, Robert (Sue) Ouellette and Anne (Dan) Pouliot; her 25 cherished great grandchildren; her four cherished great-great grandchildren; her dear sister, Lorraine P. Leahey of Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Rivard, Ouellette, and Mayotte families. Besides her parents, and her two husbands, she was also predeceased by nine dear siblings. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, May 13, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Avenue, Indian Orchard, MA 01151. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
