Obituary

WORCESTER-William E. Drew, 63, of 10 Parsons Hill Drive, died Sunday, November 7th in Memorial Hospital after an illness. He leaves his wife of 33 years, Sharon A. (Jones) Drew, a son, Steven R. Drew of Cherry Valley, 2 daughters, Deborah A. Kelley of Dudley and Kimberly L. Harney of Douglas, 3 brothers, Jack Drew of Bellingham, Robert Drew of Lake Dallas, TX and Lesley Drew of Madison, ME, 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, many nephews and nieces. A brother, Gordon Drew predeceased him.

He was born in Lowell the son of James and Ann (McCaulay) Drew and graduated from high school in Boston. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Drew worked for 25 years as a printer for Lavigne Press, until retiring. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and coached it’s basketball league for 10 years. He was an advocate of youth sports who coached Tris Speaker Little League and Joe Schwartz Little League and was an avid bowler.

The funeral service is at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 11th, in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, November 10th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tris Speaker Little League of Worcester, c/o Mark McGill, 45 Erie Avenue, Worcester, MA, 01605.
