Obituary

Carol L. (Lessard) Picard, 69, of Avon Park, FL and formerly of Woonsocket, died on Saturday, May 3, in Florida Hospital, Sebring FL. Carol was the wife of Richard A. Picard, with whom she celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on February 7. She was born in San Diego, CA, a daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Langevin) Lessard. Carol was a 1962 graduate of Woonsocket High School. She was also an alumna of RI College earning her B.S.N. As a registered nurse, she was employed by the Miriam Hospital, Cartier’s Health Care and Berkshire Place, and worked mostly in geriatric nursing for the better part of her career.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters; Catherine Daigle of Woonsocket, Patricia Picard of Avon Park, FL, Sandra Picard of N.Smithfield and Jalina Picard of Blackstone, four grandchildren, two brothers; William Lessard of Cumberland, and Michael Lessard of Woonsocket, and one sister; Dorothy Roy of Woonsocket. She was also the mother of the late Deborah A. Picard.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, Woonsocket, with a prayer service beginning at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Visiting hours will be Friday, 4-7 PM.
