TEWKSBURY - Surjit Singh, age 78, beloved wife of Man Paul Singh, beloved mother of Jasbir Singh and his wife Kanchana of Great Falls, VA; Baljit Jackson and her husband Stanton of Andover, MA; mother in law of Mark Trombino of Cave Creek AZ, who was husband of her late daughter Anupam Trombino; beloved grandmother of Tarun Singh, Paul and Simran Jackson, and Priya Trombino.
Mrs. Surjit Singh was born in Lahore, India (now Pakistan) to Sardar Maher S. Uppal and Bibi Amrit K. Uppal. After the partition, her family settled in Ferozpur, Punjab, where she finished college. After her father's passing, she supported her mom and siblings by working for the Social Services Agency in Punjab, India for ten years. She was a beloved daughter, wife and mother. Man Paul and Surjit celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last year. Mrs. Surjit Singh loved to sing, dance, laugh, knitting, crocheting and playing games. She will be missed by all.
Her funeral service was held Friday, May 9th, in the funeral home, followed by cremation at Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill.
A celebration of life ceremony was held at Sikh Gurudwara on Saturday May 10th. Donations can be made to New England Sikh Study Circle.
