Leroy R. Burbank, 85, of Bedford, NH died January 3, 2014 at Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.
He was born in Hooksett, NH, the son of Ralph and Mildred (Dickey) Burbank and was a resident of Bedford for most of his life.
He joined the Bedford Fire Department as a volunteer in 1947, retiring as a full-time Captain in 1996. He also worked many years as a machinist.
Leroy enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and working on the home that he built.
He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Aline (Neugebauer) Burbank in 2012, and daughter, Sharon Burbank in 2010. He was also predeceased by his brother, Earl Burbank
The family includes three children, Valerie Azotea (Victor) of Claremont, Randy Burbank (Pamela) of Effingham and David Burbank (Robin) of Bedford; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters Edna Klardie of Merrimack and Ida Heath of South Berwick, ME. His sister Ruth Watkins of Merrimack passed away on March 31, 2014.
A graveside service was held on Saturday May 24, 2014 in St. Joseph Cemetery.
