WESTON: Reba Reed Campbell, 91, died peacefully on May 2, 2014 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence following a period of declining health.
She was born in Newton on October 3, 1922 the daughter of the late George W. Campbell and Eva J. (Ogelsby) Campbell.
Reba was the beloved mother of Beverley J. Marini and her husband Robert of Easton; Bruce C. Wires and his wife Donna of East Douglas; Diane E. Campbell-Beard and her husband Charles of Charlotte, NC; Schuyler D. Wires and his wife Urszula of Mashpee and Dawn A. Rodowicz and her husband John of Weston. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jeanne W. Ruckman, Anne Terrill and Mitchell Campbell.
Reba has been a resident of Weston for the past seven years and was a longtime resident of the Auburndale section of Newton. She received her Associate of Science Degree from LaSalle College in Newton. In her earlier years, she was a secretary during World War II with the Department of the Navy at Bethesda Hospital in Maryland. She also worked for the City of Newton for several years. For many years, Reba was the Clerk in the Board of Assessors office for the Town of Weston before retiring.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her family and will be greatly missed by all of the lives that she touched during her life.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Congregational Church of Weston, 130 Newton Street, Weston followed by her funeral service at 11:00 o’clock.
Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery in Weston,
