Obituary

OXFORD – Catherine A. Sullivan, 93, of 25 Walnut Street, died Thursday, November 4, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

She leaves a sister, Anna E. Sullivan, with whom she lived; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and a great grandniece; and a sister-in-law, Cecile Sullivan of Dudley.

She was born in Webster, a daughter of John W. and Elizabeth (Conlin) Sullivan. She lived in Webster before moving here in 1957. She graduated from St. Louis High School in Webster and from Fitchburg State Teachers College.

Miss Sullivan taught in the elementary grades in Webster for 39 years, and then in Oxford for 1 year, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the Southern Worcester County Retired Teachers’ Association. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church.

The funeral will be held Monday, November 8, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. A calling period will be from 8:15 to 9:15 Monday morning at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main Street, Oxford, MA 01540, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
