Mary E. (Gerrard) Ball, age 93, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was born on Feb. 23, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan. She was a daughter of the late Henry C. Gerrard, MD, and Mary (Pezzini) Gerrard. Mary worked as a cosmetology teacher for Putnam Vocational Technical Academy for many years. She also worked and taught at Mansfield Beauty Academy in Springfield for many years. She is predeceased by her husband Harold Ball who passed away in 1985. She leaves her daughters, Barbara Babula and her husband Richard of Ludlow, Patricia Parent and her husband Denis of Palmer and Kathleen Stefanidis and her husband John of Springfield. She also leaves her sister Gloria Tomasetti of Wilbraham, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA 01013. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Grise Funeral Home with burial to follow in St Michaels Cemetery.
