Richard Charles Platt, 89, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin died May 1, 2014 at Rawlins' House Nursing Home in Pendleton after a brief illness.
He was born August 16, 1924 in Chicago, Ill. to Raymond C and Martha S. (Scharf) Platt.
He was a tool & dye maker at DuPage Diecast most of his working life before retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Rice Lake.
Survivors include his children, Jeff Platt of Milwaukee, WI; Karen (Tom) Hunter of Anderson, IN; Terry (Dorothy) Platt of Plymouth, MA; sister, Arlene (Leo) Rembowski of Hoffman Estates, IL; brother, Don (Pat) Platt of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Journey Platt; Jason, Mark (Jen); Tim (Carolyn) Hunter; Rachel (Matt) Rich and Leah (Tyler) Beard; eight great grandchildren and special friend, June Lihrman and family of Rice Lake, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eunice.
Service will be 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 6 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the service.
