Sarah Louise (Jones) Lapp,
Dec. 3, 1945 to Apr. 29, 2014

Sarah Louise (Jones) Lapp, 68, of Anderson, Ind., died April 29, 2014, at Community Hospital following a life-long battle with heart disease.
Born Dec. 3, 1945, in Monroe, La., to Carlton and Lois (McGee) Jones, she relocated to Anderson and was a pioneer open-heart surgery patient of Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, Ind. Her charisma and the miracles of God allowed her to far surpass prognosticated life spans.
Alumna of Anderson High School (’63) and Anderson College (B.A. ’67), Sarah began her teaching career in Anderson Public Schools and retired from Springfield Local Schools, Toledo, Ohio.
Among her voluntary endeavors were newsletter editor-in-chief, historic Manor House, Toledo, Ohio; advocate and fundraiser, Riley Hospital; member, Women of the Church of God; and outreach, Stephen Ministries. She attended Dorr Street Church of God, Toledo, Ohio, from 1970-2004 and South Meridian Church of God, Anderson, Ind., in childhood and from 2004-2014.
Preceded in death by her parents, Sarah is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joseph Lapp of Anderson, who she married Aug. 9, 1970; son, Hans (Dawn) Lapp of Kokomo, Ind.; daughter, Susane (Daniel) Jenkins of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren (Nolan, Levi and Evan Lapp and Emma, Caleb and Isaac Jenkins); sister, Wanda Mills of Lapel, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at South Meridian Church of God on Saturday, May 3: 2:30-3:30 p.m. visitation, 3:30 p.m. service. Memorial contributions may be given to Riley Hospital, the American Heart Association or South Meridian
