Donald M. Burnham, Jr., age 79, of South Easton, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Quincy, son of the late Donald and Florence (Tobin) Burnham, raised in Cambridge and was a graduate of Norfolk County Agricultural High School.
During the Korean Conflict, Don served as an F-86 Sabre Jet Crew Chief in the United States Air Force and honorably served in Japan. For the past 20 years he had been a resident of Easton, previously residing in Brockton. Over the years Don had been involved in car sales, real estate and was the owner of Burnham Greenhouses. He enjoyed spending time at the Capeway Manor, Raynham Dog Track, playing cards and time with his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his children Donna Sparrow and her husband Dennis of Wareham, Susan McGrory of Randolph, Russell Burnham and his wife Heather of South Easton and Alex Thunberg of Long Island, NY; seven grandchildren Leah and Richard Nelson, Jr., Dallas, Chace and Bronson Burnham and Liam and Ryley McGrory; five great grandchildren and three sisters Jacqueline Scully, Doris Wilmoth and Carol Peterson. He was the former husband of Shelvy J. (Tibbetts) Burnham and father of the late Daniel Burnham.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 5-7:30pm followed by a prayer service at 7:30pm. Burial will be at a later date in Melrose Cemetery.
