Eugenio V. Rodrigues, 68, of New Bedford died Thursday November 4, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Irisalva (Andrade) Rodrigues.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Vieira) Rodrigues, he had lived in Boston and New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mr. Rodrigues was formerly employed as a chef for the 99 Restaurant in Boston until his retirement.
He was a member of the Bisca Tournament Club in New Bedford and the Ideal Club in Bridgewater.
Survivors include a son, Manuel Rodrigues of Florida; three daughters, Evelyn Rodrigues of New Bedford, Celeste Rodrigues of Stoughton, and Fatima Rodrigues of Providence, RI; two brothers, Harry Rodrigues of Salem, NH, and John Rodrigues of New Bedford; a sister, Elisa Barbosa of Weston; four grandsons, Andre Rivera, Manuel Rodrigues, Jr., Jovan Rivera and Kristoff Rivera.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday November 8, 2004 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday November 7, 2004 from 1-5 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
