SKANE, George W. of Winthrop, April 26, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Pat” (Cox) Skane. Devoted father of George W. Skane Jr. and his wife Michelle of Georgetown, Christine Hazlett of Winthrop, Joyce Yeaw and her husband Everett of Newton and the late Richard J. Skane. Adored grandfather of Frances A. Skane, William and Jennifer Hazlett, and Everett III and Cameron Yeaw. Dear brother of the late Richard and John Skane and Gertrude Dinan. Visiting hours will be held at the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Weds. April 30, from 9-11am. A Funeral Mass will follow in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited. Box 520037, Winthrop, MA 02152. George served in the U.S Coast Guard during WWII. He was an alumnus of Northeastern University and was member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078.
