Obituary

Armand Calabrese, of Medford, formerly of Stoneham and Boston’s West End died at the Epoch of Chestnut Hill Nursing Home. He was 92.

Armand was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Nicholas and Rafaella (Farisco) Calabrese. He served in the Pacific with the Army during World War II and participated in the liberation of the Philippines. He settled with his family in Stoneham and worked as a supervisor with the US Post Office. After his retirement he was a teacher’s aid, helping special needs students. He lived the last few years in Medford.


The beloved husband of the late Lucy (Tringale), he was a devoted father to Nicholas Calabrese of Randolph and his family, Armand Calabrese, his wife Karen of Arizona and their family, Leonard Calabrese, his wife Paula of Vermont and their family. He was a dear brother to Alfred Calabrese, the late Helen Riccio, Mary Mirabella, Anthony and Guido Calabrese and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday April 28th at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Sunday
6 - 8 PM.
