Fall River – Thelma P. Carvalho, age 92 of Berkley formerly of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Manuel Carvalho and the daughter of Anna (Fragosa) and Luiz Pacheco. She was born in New Bedford, spent all of her life in this area and worked as a Teacher’s Aide in the New Bedford School Department for many years until her retirement.
She is survived by her 2 children: Joyce Roberts of California and Jean Tavares and her husband, John, of Berkley, MA; 2 grandchildren: Wendy Doucette and Wayne Carvalho; 2 great-grandchildren: Mac and Jake Carvalho; as well as her daughter in-law, Gloria Carvalho, and her boyfriend, John Fitzgerald, of Dartmouth.
Mrs. Carvalho was predeceased by 7 siblings.
Private arrangements were placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
