Francis J. Cassidy, age 67, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Brockton, died April 4, 2014 at Largo Medical Center, Largo, FL, following a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Maria F. (Fonseca) Cassidy. Born in Norwood, he was the son of the late Francis L. and Margaret A. (Pruell) Cassidy. Frank was raised and educated in Walpole, was a graduate of Walpole High School, and had been a longtime resident of Brockton before moving to Florida six years ago. For over 30 years, he had been employed as a Designing Engineer for Ark-less Corporation in Stoughton. He was a former member of the Walpole Sportsman’s Club and St. Edward St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved the ocean and fishing and enjoyed most Boston sports teams. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed helping others.
In addition to his wife Maria, Frank is survived by three daughters, Patricia of Brockton, and Kristen and Kimberly of Clearwater and Brockton; a sister Catherine Hagen of Wrentham and brother Michael and his wife Mary Cassidy of Walpole. Also survived by his brother in-laws Victor and his wife Cidalia Fonseca of Brockton, Carlos Fonseca of Germany and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday, April 28, at 8am prior to a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Donations in Frank’s name may be made to the St. Edith Stein St. Vincent de Paul Society, 71 East Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
