Sadie L. Flinn

...active at St. William's Parish; age 88

TEWKSBURY - Sadie L. (Carty) Flinn, age 88, an active member and volunteer for St. William's Parish in Tewksbury, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 3, after a brief illness.

She was born in Belleville, Nova Scotia, on Jan. 5, 1916, a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Doucette) Carty. She moved to Wakefield, Mass. in her infancy, and returned to Nova Scotia at the age of 12. She emigrated to Malden in 1963, and had lived in Tewksbury since 1970.

She was employed as a stitcher at Decan Sportswear in Malden, and later worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.

She was a communicant of St. William's Church, and served as an Eucharistic Minister, was active in Sodality, and had served as chairwoman for the Christmas Crafts Fair.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and Crochet, and was especially fond of the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon and her husband Denis Marceau of P.Q. Quebec, Carolyn Mederios of Tewksbury, Irene Frontain of Methuen; three sons, William Flinn of Nova Scotia, and Grant Flinn of Tewksbury, with whom she resided, Randall Flinn of New Brunswick, Canada; son-in-law William Frontain of Methuen; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was also mother of the late Douglas Carty and Keith Flinn; sister of the late Charles Carty; mother in-in-law of the late Robert Mederios Sr, and Adrian Dupuis; and grandmother of the late Robert Mederios Jr.

Her Funeral Mass was held Monday, Nov. 8, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
