OXFORD – Rita B. (Blouin) Strzelewicz, 92, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in Beaumont Skilled Nursing, Northboro, with her family at her side. Her husband of 48 years, Chester E. Strzelewicz, died in 2002.
She leaves 3 sons, Edward J. Strzelewicz of Boylston, Mark J. Strzelewicz and his wife Mimi of Webster and Richard J. Strzelewicz and his wife Laurie of Sebring, FL; 9 grandchildren, Arielle, Abigail, Alexandra, Zachary, Brad, Mandi, Colleen, Steven and Daniel; a brother, Roland Blouin of Webster; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Robin M. (Cremeans) Strzelewicz in 2013.
She was born in Merrimac, one of the 12 children of Emile J. and Yvonne (Fournier) Blouin and lived in Webster since her childhood. She resided in Oxford for 23 years, and moved to Northboro 2 years ago. She was a high school graduate.
She was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a seaman first class.
Mrs. Strzelewicz worked as a winder at Elegant Yarn and then at Maanexit Spinning Company in Webster before retiring in 1982.
She was a member of Saint Roch’s Church. She enjoyed music and dancing. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 28, at 10:00 AM in Saint Roch’s Church, 334 Main Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to Labs of Cognitive Neuroscience at Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
