METHUEN - Sr. Norah Milsom, 95 passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Saint Claire Residence of the Presentation of Mary in Methuen, MA.
Born in Madras, India on May 2, 1918, she was the daughter of Ernest and Sibyl (Chichely-Plowden) Milsom. Sr. Norah graduated high school from the Catholic Institute in Lausanne, Switzerland and then from the University of Exeter in Exeter, England.
Sr. Milson entered the Bourg-Saint-Andeol in France on April 1936 and professed her vows on March 19, 1936, taking her religious name, Sr. Edward Mary and taught at Palace Gate and Mount St. Mary both in Exeter, England. She was the Principal at Mount St. Mary from 1974 to 1988. She retired in Methuen in 2005.
She is survived by 2 nieces, Helen Hague of Isle of Man, England and Mary Hill of Wolverhampton, England and 2 nephews, Thomas Swales of Southampton, England and Timothy Swales of Colorado.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 2:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. at the Saint Claire Residence of the Presentation of Mary 209 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2:30p.m. in the Chapel of the Presentation of Mary with burial in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery also in Methuen.
