Anne Stegmeir Obituary
Anne (nee Falb) Stegmeir, 97, of Mahtomedi died at her home, Wednesday, April 9.

In 1939, she traveled to Yellowstone Park for a summer job. There she met Paul (Duke) Stegmeir, whom she married in 1941.They lived in rural Mahtomedi on a hobby farm where they raised their family. She was the epitome of the master gardener. The fresh sweet corn and other garden treasures she grew were canned and frozen for her family and sold to passers by. She was known as the “Gladiola Lady” because of all the glads and other flowers she grew along Wildwood Rd.
Anne also enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking, camping, rock hunting, hiking, bowling, playing games and cards, especially cribbage. Most of all, she enjoyed and loved her grand and great grand children. Throughout her life she sought to meet new people and seek new adventures with a smile and a positive attitude.
Anne was a member of Mahtomedi Homemakers and the Maplewood Rock and Mineral Club. Since 1947, she has been a member of No. Presbyterian Church.
