Obituary

Whitman – Murry L. Meisner 85, a lifelong resident of Whitman, died Monday April 14 in his Whitman home after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Gladys (Conquest) Meisner.

Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late James E. and Clara E. (Downie) Meisner and had attended Whitman schools.

He was a proud veteran of World War II having served in the US Army from 1946-1948.

Before his retirement Murry had worked many years as a truck driver and had also been a machinist apprentice.

He enjoyed woodworking, flying his model airplanes and in his younger years had been a “Stock Car Driver”.

He is survived by his loving children Ralph Meisner of Whitman and Maureen Young and her husband Bill of Bourne as well as three grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

His funeral service will be held Saturday April 19 at 12 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 AM – 12 PM.
