Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) BrocktonFriday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm.
Obituary
Miss Smith died Tuesday morning at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center following a period of failing health. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Thomas F. and Jane (Ahern) Smith, she had remained a lifelong resident of Brockton. She was a graduate of St. Patrick High School Class of 1934 and also graduated from Maltby Secretarial School in Stoughton. She retired from the New England Telephone company after 37 years as an Assistant Manager of directory assistance in the Brockton office. Member of Telephone Pioneers, South Shore Irish American Assoc., Twentieth Century Catholic Club and Former Member of St. Margaret Sodality & Women’s Club.
Survived by two sisters, Margaret G. DelSordo and Evelyn G. Welch both of Brockton, two nieces, Jane E. Welch of S. Easton and Mary P. DelSordo of Middleboro andone nephew, Edward T. Welch and his wife Michelle of Brockton, three grandnieces and two grandnephews.
