Donald A. Favreau, 78, of Laconia died October 31, 2004 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a period of failing health. He was born in Dracut Mass.on June 22, 1926, the son of Alberic and Alice (Caron) Favreau. He was raised in Warren NH and graduated from Warren Elementary School. He later moved to Laconia and was a graduate of Laconia High School.
He served in the Army Air Corps in the latter part of World War II. Donald joined his mother, father and sister in the operation of the Lakeside Hotel in Weirs Beach at a young age and with his sister continued operation of the hotel until his retirement in 1987.
Throughout his life, Donald remained loyal and devoted to his boyhood friends in Warren and each year helped organize an annual reunion. He enjoyed aviation as a hobby. Donald was known for his festive neighborhood patio buffets while he resided at the Weirs.
Family members include his wife, Joan D. Caron and several cousins. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Marcella Favreau in November 1990.
A calling hour was held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Friday from 1 PM to 2 PM. A funeral service followed in the Funeral Home at 2 PM. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Warren Library, Main St., Warren NH 03279. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
