Obituary

LEICESTER-Timothy E. Brosnihan, 76, of 9 Hyland Avenue, formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, November 2nd in U Mass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with Heart Disease. He leaves his wife and best friend of 47 years, Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Mellor) Brosnihan, a son, Timothy M. Brosnihan, close companion of Michelle Sutherland, both of Leicester, a daughter, Karen A. Brosnihan of Leicester, a family friend, Ronald Allain of Charlton, 4 grandchildren, Ryan Carrier, James Gully, Jason and Lindsay Deyo, and “The Girls”, Bailey and Casey. A brother, John Brosnihan predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of John E. and Myrtle C. (Weintraub) Brosnihan, Sr., graduated from Commerce High School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Brosnihan was a heavy equipment operator for the City of Worcester for 22 years, retiring in 1972. He once worked in the food service department at Assumption College and most recently as a parking attendant at U Mass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus. He was a member of St. John’s Church and loved to travel, especially his annual trips to Aruba with Betty and family vacations in the White Mountains.

The funeral is Friday, November 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, November 4th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
