Eugenia M. Spalding
Member of the First Baptist Church of Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY: Eugenia M. (Farwell) Spalding, age 92, of North Tewksbury, passed away the Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
She was the wife of the late C. Gerald Spalding, to whom she was married on October 25, 1942.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on May 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Mildred (Sargent) Farwell and the late Wallace Lewis Farwell of North Tewksbury, Mass.
Mrs. Spalding was retired from the former St. John's Hospital (Saints Memorial) in 1983 after 18 1/2 years. Following her retirement, she volunteered at Saints Memorial for several years.
She was a member of the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Julius Woessner. She was also a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Drop-In-Center.
Mrs. Spalding was an active member of the First Baptist Church of North Tewksbury for most of her life, a member of the Alpha Philathea Class, church choir, a deaconess, many committees from time to time, and a member of the Adult Luncheon Group at the church.
Her family includes three children, Robert W. Spalding of Melbourne, FL and his former wife Debra, Douglas A. Spalding and his wife Marian of St. Albans, ME, and Martha Jean Spalding of Chelmsford, MA; two grandchildren, Luke T. Williamson and Wendy Jean Spalding; three step-grandchildren, Kevin Moser, Jason A. Moser, and Joseph S. Moser; one sister, Hazel (Farwell) O'Donnell of Newtonville, MA and her late husband, Rev. Dr. Joseph E. O'Donnell ; also several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours Monday, April 14, from 5-9 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Rte. 133, North Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Bertha Flanagan Scholarship Fund, c/o the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
