Martinez- Mrs. Evelyn Shauck, 94, beloved wife of the late Col. Charles W. Shauck , entered into rest on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at University Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Nicole Kelley officiating.
Mrs. Shauck was born, raised and educated in Washington D.C. She started her career with the FBI, but left at the birth of her first child to become a homemaker. Her husband was a career Army officer, and they traveled extensively through the US and Europe. They moved to Augusta in 1958, and she became active with the Augusta Women’s Club, the Garden Club and numerous local charities. She played the piano, and was an avid bridge player, reader and gardener.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean Trainor (Thomas), her grandson, Thomas Matthew Trainor Jr. (Lynette), and her great grandson, Thomas Whitney Larick.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her son, Jack Whitney Shauck and her great granddaughter, Virginia Stuart Trainor.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver and companion, Nicole Kelley, and the doctors and nurses who cared for her at University Hospital.
