Frances J. (Richall) Smith, 95, of Walpole died April 3 in the Harrington House in Walpole. She was the wife of the late Ernest Smith who died in 1989.
Born in Franklin, June 30, 1918, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Connolly) Richall, Mrs. Smith was raised in Franklin and Norwood and had been a resident of Walpole for the past 75 years.
A homemaker for most of her life, she had been one of the first female bus drivers for the MJ. Connolly Bus Company in Walpole many years ago.
Frances was an avid and loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan.
She is survived by her daughter Shirley Hayman of Walpole and Nancy Walsh and her husband John of Walpole.
She was the mother of the late Ernest Smith Jr. and Frederick W. Smith.
She is also survived by her six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral services and interment will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 6 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street Walpole from 4-7.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Charity of One’s Choice.
