
Glenda K. (Taber) Broadbent, 95, of Westport Point died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Walter P. Broadbent.
Born in Westport, she was daughter of the late Andrew A. and Helen G. (Kirby) Taber. Glenda had a great desire for learning and reading. She graduated from Hyannis Teachers College, and taught at many schools in Westport and Dartmouth. She was also the Town of Westport Librarian from 1963-1967. Glenda loved reminiscing about growing up in Westport Point. She belonged to the Westport Historical Society and received a special citation for her research.
Glenda is survived by her loving children: Lois Allen and her husband Fran, Meredith Leach and her husband Brian and Andrew Broadbent and his wife Robin; and 4 loving grandchildren: Wendy Taylor, Andrew Sherman, Ashlen Broadbent and Drew Broadbent.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, April 7, 2014 at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday from 2 – 4 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
