Manuel F. Silva, age 59 of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at home with his family by his side. Born in Rabo de Peixe, São, Miguel, Açores, he was the beloved husband of Maria Celeste (Costa) Silva and the son of the late Francisco Reis Silva and Maria dos Anjos (Reis) Silva. Manuel worked as a Machinist for Lightolier Mfg. Co. He was a parishioner of St. John of God Church, and enjoyed fishing, sports, playing golf, listening to music, and building all types of models.
In addition to his wife of Somerset, he is survived by his two children: Brenda and James Silva both of Somerset, and nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary dos Anjos Sousa, Armindo Silva, and Viriato Reis Silva.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Somerset at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
